Financial Information System of Jamuna Fertilizer Company Ltd(JFCL)
Financial information system (FIS) provides information that is needed to manage organizations efficiently and effectively. Financial information systems are not only computer systems - these systems encompass three primary components: technology, people (individuals, groups, or organizations), and data/information for decision making.
Through this study, an endeavor has been taken to emphasize on the need of the financial information systems (FIS) in Jamuna Fertilizer Company Limited (JFCL), especially to identify the potential areas wherein the FIS has been used. Financial information system (FIS) consists of five related components: hardware, software, people, procedure, and collections of data. The term information technology (IT) represents the various types of hardware and software used in information systems, including computer and networking equipments.
Moreover we have tried to show how information systems work in JFCL and how these systems help the company to effectively produce its products. In the last part of the report we have identified some problems and provided some recommendations regarding this problem. There is some lacking in business solving networking system like FIS in the JFCL. Main barriers are a lack of leadership, motivation and shortage of skill manpower to implement FIS in JFCL.
